Some of My Favorite Reads…Part 2 of Books & More

Earlier this year I took part in a presentation of great books at the Westport Library and I listed many of them in Part 1 of Books & More,  Here are the rest of my recommendations – these are some of my favorites separated into categories: Outcast Characters, South African Stories, and the 1980’s.  If you take the time to read the author Q & As you may gain additional insight and learn something extra.  I am always so appreciative when an author agrees to answer a few of my questions and it makes me love a book even more!  I hope it is the same for you!

Outcast Characters

My review of Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

My Review of The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell by Rob Dugoni

Author Q & A with Catherine Ryan Hyde (Have You Seen Luis Velez?)

Author Q & A with RL Maizes (I Love Anderson Cooper)

South African Stories

My review of Hum If You Don’t Know the Words by Bianca Marais

Author Q & A with Bianca Marais (If You Want to Make God Laugh)

My review of The Great Believers by Rebecca Makkai

My review of White Fur by Jardine LeBaire

If you like the 80s you must watch Pose on TV (FX).  It is the Fame of this generation and stars transgender and gay actors.  Billy Porter is phenomenal and the show is created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk – the team that created Glee, American Horror Story and Scream Queens.. and also worked on Nip/Tuck.
