My Review:
I am a fan of Elliot Page (mostly from Juno) and admire his honesty in this candid, albeit choppy memoir, Pageboy. The chapters jump around in time which can make it a bit disjointed, but the emotional journey he went on to come to terms with who he is was painful, grueling and eye opening. So disappointing to know he didn’t get the support he truly needed from his father and no doubt that added to his struggles. One thing this memoir reinforces is the idea that we need to be accepting and really take care of each other to ensure mental well being and positive growth. Elliot’s bravery in coming out as trans serves as a lesson to all who are conflicted. I read and enjoyed this book but may try listening to the audible version, as the author reads it in his own voice.
