Domestic Violence, Forgiveness and Love in Colleen Hoover’s It Ends With Us and It Starts With Us

It Ends With Us

My Review:

Fastest read ever! I finally jumped on the CoHo bandwagon to see what all the hype was about (videos on #BookTok, a huge TikTok niche, brought Hoover’s books to #1) and got sucked in to It Ends With Us for 24 hours of reading! There is a certain compelling element to the writing Colleen Hoover has mastered – fast paced, sexy characters, dangerous situations and emotional relationships; all powerful enough to keep me reading nonstop from cover to cover. This book has disturbing scenes of domestic violence that were inspired by the author’s own experiences, so don’t be fooled into thinking this is just a light contemporary romance; there is also meaningful substance. This is my latest GREAT ESCAPE recommendation!

And Then…

It Starts With Us

I couldn’t be left hanging, so I immediately read the follow up, It Starts With Us, the next day! This one has a bit less stressful subject matter and was more about hope, love and starting over – a perfect ending for the main characters and a delightful two day binge for me!
